Im Vermittlungsformat E.V.A.

Bianca-Maria Köck works in the research group Process Systems Engineering for Sustainable Resources (E166-06-3) on automated life cycle assessment (LCA) as a tool for organisational sustainability. Her focus is process-based LCA of large, heterogeneous datasets, in particular for assessing Scope 3 emissions and other environmental impacts of procurement. In the LCA@TUW project she develops an LLM-based pipeline that automatically maps TU Wien procurement data across multiple procurement categories to life cycle inventory data and calculates environmental impacts. Methodological foundations include the automation of life cycle inventory analysis, handling of data gaps and uncertainty, and multivariate statistics for decision support. A second focus is participatory research and science communication on sustainability: she leads the co-creation space "Transformer", where pupils, researchers and the public work together on questions of sustainable development, and is project manager of the FFG Talente regional project P.L.A.N.E.T. (2026-2028), in which school classes work with researchers and practitioners on solutions for the nine planetary boundaries. Within the outreach format E.V.A. - Recognize, Understand, Apply she develops programmes in which school classes from grade 5 onwards get to know how researchers at TU Wien think and work through hands-on workshops.
