Marcus Franz Wareyka-Glaner promovierte 2022 an der TU Wien in Vermessung und Geoinformation. In seiner Dissertation, die mit dem „Award of Excellence“ des österreichischen Bundesministeriums für Bildung, Wissenschaft und Forschung ausgezeichnet wurde, konzentrierte er sich auf die Entwicklung von Ansätzen zur Reduzierung der Konvergenzzeit der präzisen Einzelpunktbestimmung (Precise Point Positioning, PPP). Im Jahr 2023 wurde er mit dem Karl Rinner Preis der Österreichischen Geodätischen Kommission (ÖGK) ausgezeichnet.
Derzeit ist er wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter am Institut für Geodäsie und Geoinformation der TU Wien. Seine Forschungsschwerpunkte liegen in den Bereichen globale Satellitennavigationsdienste und PPP für geodätische Anwendungen und kostengünstige Geräte (z. B. Smartphones). Er ist Hauptentwickler des Open-Source-Softwarepakets raPPPid (https://github.com/TUW-VieVS/raPPPid).
Marcus Franz Wareyka-Glaner received his Ph.D. in Engineering Sciences Surveying and Geoinformation from TU Wien in 2022. In his dissertation, which was honoured with the "Award of Excellence" of the Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research, he focused on the development of PPP approaches to reduce the convergence time of Precise Point Positioning (PPP). In 2023, he was awarded the Karl Rinner Prize of the Austrian Geodetic Commission (Österreichische Geodätische Kommission, ÖGK).
Currently, he is a research assistant at the Department of Geodesy and Geoinformation, TU Wien. His research focuses on Global Navigation Satellite Systems, satellite navigation and PPP for geodetic applications and low-cost data (e.g. smartphones). He is the main developer of the open source software package raPPPid (https://github.com/TUW-VieVS/raPPPid).
