Since 2001 the cultural landscape around Lake Neusiedl is registered  on the list of the World Heritage Sites. In this course, the importance of the UNESCO World Heritage List will be explained. Away from the controversial discussion about the World heritage Site Vienna the importance of the outstanding universal value, authenticity and integrity will be highlighted in the course. On this basis, the aim is to study the compatibility of preservation of architectural traditions and the development of new architectural language with a corresponding local character.
