2019S, VU, 3.0h, 4.5EC

Properties

  • Semester hours: 3.0
  • Credits: 4.5
  • Type: VU Lecture and Exercise

Aim of course

The goal of this lecture is to provide both a thorough understanding and the knowledge of the methods for the advanced mathematical modeling based on first-principles of complex dynamical systems stemming from different physical domains.

Subject of course

Selected topics for the mathematical modeling of complex dynamical systems from different (coupled) physical domains (coupled elastic mechanical structures, electromagnetic transducers, etc.).

Additional information

A preliminary discussion of the course will be given at the beginning of the first lecture on March 7th, 2018, at 11:00 am in the seminar room E384.

Examination modalities

The examination consists of a written and an oral part. For the written part, individual example problems have to be solved. This serves as a basis for the discussion at the oral examination. In addition, Appendix A of the lecture notes contains exam questions that should give an orientation for the oral examination.
