Each lecture starts with a presentation, where the required basics for the exercises are developed. Afterwards, an example is carried out within the group. A similar example has to be analysed as homework. The institute's equipment is available for finite element calculations, although most students use their own PCs (laptops). The software used (ANSYS) is made available to students free of charge by ANSYS Inc. and can be downloaded from the Internet.
Attendance:
In principle, there are written documents for all parts of the lecture, which means that absence at individual dates is not a problem. Attendance at the lectures is important, however, as discussion and exercises form an essential part of the course.
As in the previous year, the course takes place in the first half of the summer semester. There are 7 dates, one lecture and one exercise session each, with one date/week as a target.
Summer semester 2023:
As no participants have registered for this summer semester so far, it is possible for those who still register (please contact the lecturer personally) to attend the course with individual time schedules. Since recordings are available for lectures and exercises, individual support is possible. The lecture hall dates have therefore been cancelled.
Organisation and exchange of information will take place via the eLearning system (TUWEL).
For taking the exam, 6 exercises have to be performed and the results shown to the instructors. The grading is based on the oral exam.
The presentation of the homework examples can also take place in video conferences if necessary.
Since no participants have registered for this summer semester so far, it is possible for those who still register to attend the course with individual time allocation. In addition to registering in TISS, please contact the lecturer by email (franz.rauscher@tuwien.ac.at).
Lecture notes for this course are available.
Die Unterlagen werden im Zuge der Lehrveranstaltung ausgegeben.
