The course aims at analysing and understanding of processes of participation and governance in the context of urban development. This year the focus is on "Urban Security Strategies".

- Reflectiong challenges and constraints of participation processes due to their embedding in political structures
- Discusssion of political strategies to solve planning problems
Main topics are
- Types of Governance and their relevance for urban development
- Self-organisation and commoning in urban development
- methods of analysing political strategies (policies) and forms of governance
