After successful completion of the course, students are able to grasp and analyse site-specific conditions in an urban context. The interpretation of these conditions serves as a basis for the development of strategies for future urban development.

The excursion is part of the course 'Tirana Kombinat'. Direct experience of urban design situations, is indispensable to teaching urban design. The excursions serve as a means to study closely particular settings on the ground. Trips have as their ultimate goal the development of skills in perception. They are meant to convey clearly to students a repertoire of possibilities for comparison and judgment. Preferable destinations are significant historical urban achievements, but also, locations, which exhibit contemporary tendencies in urban design.
