Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to write a methodically correct, scientific paper on a subject of art and architectural history, deal with relevant literature and receive instructions on archive and source research.

Subject of course

Students are required to prepare a short academic work on the basis of a topic focus changing each year from the field of the history of art and architecture. The seminar communicates approaches for the structuring of the work in terms of method and content. Each student is expected to present his topic within the framework of a short paper in the seminar.

Teaching methods

Inherent thematic introduction, guidance for scientific work. Partial submissions with correction, small excursions on site, presentation of short papers and elaboration of a handouts. Feedback on all papers.
