After successful completion of the course, students are able to use and evaluate multimodal sensors for image sequence acquisition. They know and understand solutions for motion detection, object tracking and event detection in image sequences. They are familiar with basic questions regarding ethics and GDPR in the area of surveillance.
In this course, the analysis of multimodal image sequences (RGB, thermal, 3d) is treated in depth: this includes the topics of sensor technology, motion detection, object tracking, scene reconstruction and performance evaluation. Issues of visual computer-aided event detection in videos will be discussed. Additionally, ethics and GDPR issues for surveillance will be addressed. As an excursus, computer-aided analysis of historical film data will be presented.
