Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to understand the essential connections in the human brain, to estimate under what conditions consciousness starts to exist and to judge the process how communicating centers in the brain create perception.

Subject of course

A selection of topic such as the following:

  • Foundations: Information theory, media theory, mathematical tools, logistics
  • Advanced features:symmetry, self-similarity, etc.
  • Advanced machine learning: neural nets, boundaries of learning, etc.
  • Advanced topics: dynamic systems, measure theory, etc.

Lecture, paper writing and presentation in groups of students

  • Frame of knowledge transfer with lecture block at the beginning an exam at the end of the lecture
  • Exploration of lecture contents in a seminar project in small groups of students
