After successful completion of the course, students are able to demonstrate a knowledge and sound understanding of the social embeddedness of ICTs and Computer Science including institutional, political, socio-cultural, and ethical aspects.

Topics include: interactions between computer science and society; social aspects of computerization; ICTs and social change; the social context of information technology development and use; consequences of ICTs for work, organizations, and everyday life; the interaction of ICT with institutional and cultural contexts; technology assessment; social responsibility of computer professionals
