The lecture teaches knowledge in selected subjects of IT security by discussing and comparing existing literature and presenting the results.

Research papers on selected current topics of IT security, which are especially relevant for large IT infrastructures, are researched, discussed and results are presented by the students of this course. Besides getting insights in different aspects of IT security, the students of this lecture will learn how to

• Create a presentation on a subject aligned to the target audience 
• Present in front of a technical audience 
• Give and implement feedback 

Didactic approach 

The responsible research group communicates engineering and research views. For this course this means that the needed basics are communicated, research in depth is guided on demand, real, often large, case studies are presented, proving and experience in creating concepts is imparted.

• Preliminary talk and presentation of topics: 2 h
• Literature search + writing of the paper: 50 h
• Intermediate presentations: 5 h
• Peer Review of a paper/ giving feedback: 10 h
• Preparation for presentation, presentation: 10 h
