mini-steam power plant
01.02.2005 - 31.12.2006
Auftragsforschungsprojekt
Biogas engines are set in to produce electricity with good electric efficiencies in a small to medium power range of decentralised units but in many cases without using the exhaust heat of the engine. Utilization of this potential (power generation without fuel consumption and CO2-deliberation) is technical feasible but economical questionable because of the conventional, expensive and expendable, steam cycle. The study could show that a innovative cycle is technically feasible and superior to the conventional in terms of efficiency and profitability. Therefore the utilisation of the exhaust heat to produce additional electric power is technically feasible and - by means of the innovative steam cycle - also economic sensible.
