Transnational research and introduction of High Performance Manufacturing as a precompetitive standard to strengthen European suppliers of mechanical components

01.06.2006 - 31.08.2008
Assigned research project
HPM - High Performance Manufacturing technology comprises new developments to reduce primary process times and lead times significantly by the means of enhanced cutting abilities, adapted tooling and machine concepts combined with integrated examination and optimisation of the process chain. The overall objective of HPM is to increase efficiency and quality of production processes associated with rapid and successful introduction of high-tech materials. The HPM project consortium plans to collect and analyse the SME R&D requirements through the three participating Associations (Austria, Germany and Slovenia) and their affiliated industrial partners. The HPM project will define the demands especially in the fields of automotive suppliers and transfer the specifically derived targets into development activities.
