Assigned research project
Preliminary thermodynamic design of a closed gas turbine cycle. The working fluid is Helium. The temperatures of the heat source and the heat sink are given. Unknown parameters (component efficiencies, total pressure losses) have to be estimated. The main result of the calculation is the pressure ratio for maximum net power output as well as the process thermal efficiency.
