TMIS.morph - Areomorphological Analysis of Data from HRSC on Mars Express
01.04.2008 - 30.09.2009
Forschungsförderungsprojekt
The orbiter Mars Express (ESA) with its three-line camera HRSC on board, is currently surveying the surface of the planet Mars in three dimensions. Together with the high resolution images, these data are the foundation for geological interpretations. This project is part of the ESA project "HRSC on Mars Express", whose principal investigator is Prof. G. Neukum (Freie Universitaet Berlin). Subject is the development and assessement of enhancement strategies of the digital terrain model in order to support the geomorpholical (or more precisely the areomorphological) interpretation. This project also includes the extension and maintanence of TMIS, the Topographic Mars Information System, which has been developed for the administration and retrieval of HRSC imagery. All Co-Investigators, thus also the Institute of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing, have unlimited and exclusive right to utilize the most recently acquired data for 6 months.
