Strategic optimization for minimization of the energy demand for humidification and dehumification

Nowadays ventilation systems become more used. For the regulations of indoor climates in exhibition rooms or museums were you need a nearly ideal climate with limited fluctuation. Because of the more air-tight construction at residential and office buildings for reducing the ventilation losses there is need for a demand-oriented ventilation system to ensure the hygienic air quality. Because the occupants are not able to control the air quality by themselves when they are out for work. The air change between the dry outside air and the indoor air causes a reduction of the relative huniidity. The use of humidifying systems increases the primary energy demand.There are three options for reducing the energy consumption for humidification and dehumidification.: moisture buffering optimization by strategic air flow rate regulation humidification retrieval The humidity load occurs for example in exhibition rooms primary at the day by visitors so that you have to use dehumidification and by night you might need humidification. To handle this dissemination d without a technical humidification you can use humidification buffering by wall covering with appropriate materials. In exhibition rooms there is maybe also a need for acoustic measures and therefor the combination of these two properties would be ideal. Such a material with both properties could be a wood fibreboard with the hygroscopic properties of salt. The use of ventilation systems indicates for usual a constant air change and can't regulate the humidity peaks. Therefor is a need to investigate and develop a strategic air change regulation to minimize the energy input for hurnidification. If there is no possibility for humidity regulation by buffering or air flow regulation the third option for minimization of the energy consumption by de- and humidification is humidification retrieval in the ventilation system.
