National and regional benefits of the road projects Marchfeldschnellstraße and the junction motorway A2 - Bad Vöslau

In a Cost-Benefit-Analysis (CBA) all costs and benefits of two road projects (Marchfeld freeway, Motorway Junction A2 - Badvöslau) are assessed and appraised. In a first step this appraisal follows the Austrian guidelines RVS 2.22 and SP-V. Secondly, these appraisal guidelines are examined and suggestions for modifications of the guidelines are made. Then the projects are re-appraised considering these modifiactions. Additionally, relevant economic aspects which traditionally are not subject of consideration in a CBA, such as impact on competitiveness or integration effects due to enhanced cross-border activities, are examined in qualitive form .
