Spatial Modelisation of small and medium size plant locations within the framework of the project Sustrain Implement Corridor (SIC)

01.09.2003 - 28.02.2005
Research funding project
The issue of the SIC-project is the development and evaluation of railway routes in Central Europe along the axis Berlin-Dresden-Prague-Vienna-Bratislava-Budapest. The specific project under investigation of the TU EOS-working group is the location and mobility of SMEs (small and medium size enterprises) depending on the accessibility of traffic routes. It is shown that SMEs react sensitively to accessibility. The most elastic response occurs in manufacturing (except for construction and craft) and in the new economy service sector.
