The project "Seamless Engineering" is embedded into the general idea of "Industry 4.0" . The aim is to create a platform for simplified and secure engineering (parameterization, maintenance and diagnosis) of automation components. Using Near Field Communication (NFC), the identification and subsequent authentication of a mobile application from and to an access point in the automation system shall be created. Once correctly authenticated, engineering and diagnostic data are exchanged in a secure manner via Bluetooth and simplified maintenance tasks can be handled. Within the project, a hardware module will be designed that provides appropriate communication endpoints (NFC, Bluetooth) and will, thus, serve as an access point for data exchange with the mobile application. The mobile application is implemented as a proof-of-concept.
