TXRF vacuumchamber with sample changer (WOBISTRAX) adaption to existing SEIFERT tubehousing according to IAEA specifications
01.07.2007 - 31.03.2010
Auftragsforschungsprojekt
This specification defines a Total reflexion X ray Fluorescence (TXRF) Vacuum chamber with Sample Changer to be used for determination of trace elements/heavy metals in water/liquid and biomedical samples. The Counterpart laboratory has a custom-made ED-XRF spectrometer build using a Seifert HV supply, a Seifert X Ray tube housing, a specially designed Secondary Target attachment and a Canberra Si(Li) detector with a Dewar flask of about 50 cm diameter. The device herin described have to make use of one of the four exit windows of existing X Ray source without geometrically or otherwise interferring with existing ED-XRF spectrometer. Alternatively, the manufacturer may propose a rearrangement of the existing spectrometer to accommondate the TXRF chamber. In any case, what is being pursued in an economic but cost effective TXRF spectrometer.
