Running characteristics and control of stainless-steel belts

01.01.2007 - 31.03.2009
Research funding project
Starting with existing investigations and measurements the simulation model of the test stand will be further developed and validated. -) Characteristic maps will be established for the stationary operation of the test stand. Inputs to these maps will be the angles of the control roller. -) The existing and modified simulation models will be valitaded with suitable test runs. -) Investigations on the efficiency of the different control inputs will be conducted. -) The test bed will be modified to enable measurements more closely resembling the full size process. -) Control algorithms will be developed which allow for a fast positioning of the belt on a predefined axis. Basis for the developement will be parameteric as well as black-box models. -) The resulting controller will be implemented in a real process to check for robustness against disturbances in realistic operating conditions.
