Reform of the Data Collecting for Financial Statistics of the Public Sector in Austria

Assigned research project
The general scope of the project is a reform of the data collecting and compilation system for financial statistics of the public sector in Austria which is carried out by the Austrian National Bank (OeNB) in cooperation with the national statistical office of Austria (Statistics Austria). The main objective is an integrated financial information system for collection of budgetary data from all units of the public sector as well as for compilation and transformation of public finances (administrative budgetary data) to provide consistent data for all national statistics on public finances as well as international financial statistics (esp. statistics to be produced by OeNB and Statistics Austria for Eurostat and ECB, e.g. excessive deficit procedure, financial accounts, government finance statistics, table on financing and investment). The project comprises Consulting for the Austrian National Bank during the reform process.
