The projects consists of a fasibility study and masterplan for the areal of the former constabulary school in Mödling, Lower Austria. The study was used as a guideline for the urbanistic competition, called out by the City of Mödling and BIG. The asset originates from 1910, consisting of buidlings of different age and condition. The most buildings are vacant, except of the housing blocks. The Concept >vicinity of HTL (Technical School) used as impulse originator for further development >urbanistic Concept is based on density and scale in the sense of "cottage-like" development, definition of new characteristic streets and public spaces, garden-city character >new neighbourhood retail centre represents a magnet, with piazza as meeting point >facets of housing, represented through mixture of: multi-storey buildings, high-density housing, atrium-houses, single family houses >mixed use buildings: spin off offices in the ground floor, appartments in the upper floors; homework possibility
