Producergas upgrading using a gas permeation plant in Oberwart (Austria)
01.05.2010 - 31.03.2011
Assigned research project
The main goal of the project is to provide, install and operate a single stage gas permeation for the upgrading of producergas at the biomass gasification plant in Oberwart. Up to 6 m³/h of producergas will be sent to a tar scrubber and subsequently compressed up to 10 bar. Further treatment involves condensation and adsorptive treatment. Using a hydrogen-selective membrane, H2 shall be separated from the mixture resulting in a product stream with a minimum of 75% hydrogen. The experiments include a variation of operating parameters to achieve this goal. This gas gas stream could be subsequently utilised in a fuel cell system.
