Photoreactive core-diversified fragments for efficient drug discovery

01.07.2025 - 30.06.2028
Research funding project

In this project we aim to create a library of small molecules with mass of around 300 Da to be deployed for the investigation of SLC-Transporters. A set of multi-component reactions are expected to enable the expedient synthesis of these probes. In addition, two bio-orthogonal functional groups should be introduced at different sites in the molecule, namely a diazirine and alkyne. This can help to not only identify potent ligands for some of these proteins but also to covalently bind them at the site of interaction. Careful analysis of the conjugates could in the future reveal important information about this still underdeveloped protein group.
