Optimal process-control of a continuous annealing line for transient operating conditions
01.11.2008 - 31.03.2011
Forschungsförderungsprojekt
In continuous anealing lines (CAL) the temperature profile of the steel strip is of utmost importance. During transient operating conditions large deviations can occur which affect the quality of the product. In order to guarantee optimal burner control a model based predictive controller will be developed, which incorporates saturation, time-delays, coupled control variables, and stochastic disturbances. Beginning with linear control concepts a step-wise increasing complexity of the control algorithm will be implemented, and an adaptive extension to the predictive controller will also be developed.
