Target of the project is to develop a planning tool as web application ("calculation of infrastructure costs for local governments in Lower Austria") that enables the ex-ante estimation of long-term fiscal effects of urban development projects (Residential, mixed-use and commercial estates). Both infrastructure requirements and fiscal revenues for the local municipality (induced by additional demand, residents and employees) are taken into account. The tool can be implemented for specific areas and in different planning alternatives and aims to optimize planning decisions at an early stage.
