Analytic combinatorics and probabilistic number theory: Metric and topological aspects of number theoretical problems

01.01.2006 - 31.07.2012
Research funding project
The interplay of discrete and continuous structures is one of the most fascinating aspects of mathematics and leads to many of its most powerful methods. This project is part of a "National Research Network" on analytic combinatorics and probabilistic number theory (funded by the FWF) where such a discrete-continuous interplay is very important. The project particularly focuses on topological and measure theoretic structures which are relevant for the investigation of questions from combinatorial number theory, dynamical systems and topology of fractals.
