Land Prices and Planning Gains in Vienna

01.04.2007 - 31.03.2008
Assigned research project
The study investigates land prices in Vienna. Vacant land sales are recorded in a public register called Kaufpreissammlung, which is administered by a local government body (Magistratsabteilung 69-Zentrale Liegenschaftsevidenz). The data sample includes about 12,000 transactions which took place from 1987 to 2004. The study aims to draw a picture of recent price developments, to analyse the role of the most important actors on the land markets, and to adress issues of planning gains and affordable housing.
