Inspec Fibres II
15.05.2007 - 21.01.2010
Assigned research project
Aim of the project is first to evaluate the medium pore size and the varietion of the pore size distribution of different surface treated needle felts by image analysis. Secondly the residual dust mess and the residual pressure drop should be detected after and during aging in an aging device according to VDI 3926, Type 2. Comparing the image analysis results units the measurement results from the VDI 3926 Type 2 apparatus, the knowledge about filtermedia clogging caused by aging should be increased. From this knowledge optimal poresize distribution, which should result to an optimal surface treatment and to optimal fibre mixtures for the design of filter media, should be found.
