Initial Research and Design for COSEERAIL

01.01.2018 - 31.12.2018
Research funding project
In many of SEE countries, historically railways played important roles both for passenger & freight, while recently it is rapidly degraded. Lack of financing is often counted as immediate reason for service suspention or reduction, but good coordination & governance with strategic positioning of railway among many different transport modes are also in lack. Integrated with other sustainable means (local PT, cycling, walking, e-mobility), railways should become the pillar of a low carbon mobility.

The overall objective of the future project is to analyze current decision-making competence distribution; to propose optimal decision-making process for rail infrastructure and services; and to empower authorities and other stakeholders.
