The overall objective of the project IKARUS is to analyse how different smart city concepts and mobility services affect urban public spaces. The first work package gives an overview of the status quo and future trends concerning mobility in Vienna. Different smart city concepts and innovative mobility services which tackle the challenges of the future are analysed. The second work package defines the term public space and analyses the official spatial policies of the city of Vienna. The thrid work package analyses the interaction between mobility concepts and services on the one hand and public space on the other hand. A special focus is laid on pedetrians needs. The final work package integrates the findings, draws conclusions and gives recommendations.
