Highly mobile autonomous robots for remote monitoring of plants in explosive atmospheres

01.02.2015 - 30.09.2017
Research funding project

We will develop autonomous robots which carry out monitoring and inspection tasks in industrial plants. Their application will increase a plant¿s safety and reduce tedious, error-prone and dangerous tasks carried out by humans. This applies especially to the chemical and oil & gas industry where harsh environmental conditions, including explosive atmospheres, are common. The mobile robot can be remotely operated at different autonomy levels between full autonomy and assisted tele-operation.
