As part of the ongoing cooperation between the customer and the Automation Systems Group the gap between the areas functional safety and security should be closed with future IP-based communication systems in mind. As underlying application domain, fire alarm systems serve which have high demands in dependability regarding the their communication infrastructure and network protocols. During the course of the project, a new communication framework shall be designed fulfilling safety and security demands. Integrated services shall be validated by a proof- of-concept implementation.
This project focuses on assisting in the development of the IP communication framework (FIRE-IP).
