feeder bus system Sochi/ Adler
15.09.2011 - 31.01.2012
Assigned research project
Most of the existing bus lines are orientated either to Sochi or to Adler. The planning of a high-capacity ground line between Sochi Central Station and Olympia Park(ideally with seperated bus lane) takes that subject into consideration. Basic planning principles of the current system are: Avoidance of necessities to change buslines by beelines (straight lines) with minibusses, Operations by demand responsive busses with adjusted intervalls. The restructuring of the passenger flow, demands an adaptation between trunk line and secondary network which is built mainly by the bus lines. The basis is built at the one hand by the expected number of passenger, capacities, localisation of connection points and the schedule (intervals) of the trunk line, on the other hand by the existing lines in Sochi. The restructuring of the routes is done with the objective of a decisively simplification of the network of public transport by less and comprehensive lines as well as a lesser number of network nodes, lesser overlaps between a multitude of existing bus lines, synchronized time tables and a consistent price system. Assessment of the route guidance the position of the bus stops follow the objective of a better coverage of the area and by that to enhance the potential of customers. Simulations are done by using VISUM.
