Expanding access to modified proteins via a novel semi-synthetic platform

01.08.2022 - 31.07.2025
Research funding project

This project aims to address a critical knowledge gap in understanding how post-translational modifications modulate the structure and activity of proteins. By developing an innovative platform to produce pure modified proteins inaccessible by current technologies, this project expects to generate new knowledge in chemistry and biology by enabling researchers to make and study these important biomolecules. Expected outcomes include enhanced capacity to access modified proteins for fundamental research and in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical sectors, strengthened international collaborations and interdisciplinary training of young researchers. The project should provide significant benefits in the priority area of advanced manufacturing.
