Due to the ever increasing pressure to rationalize the work at industrial machines, the human factors influence was forgotten more often than it was a part of the overall design process. For this reason it is the aim of the present project to reintroduce ergonomic principles for the design of environmental factors, human- machine interfaces and safety technology in regard to picking machines. This should serve as a basis for further design (and projects) in this area.
