By order of the municipality of St. Kanzian, the technical statements and the basics of decisions of the Koralmbahn were investigated. In a further step statements of the UVE concerning the environmental-hygienic effects of the route alignement in the community area of St. Kanzian were analysed. The investigation of the professional basics of decision is devided into a analysis of fundamental studies of regional science as well as studies of transport science. Derived out of regional science studies aspects like regional economic importance, advantages of reachability or the multitude of basic assumption and their effects on the interpretation of the results were analysed. Concerning the basical transportation studies, the analyse of defaults (by awarding authority), transportation specifications, methodical problems as well as problems of operational rentability are treated.
