Energy saving driving mode on suburban railway traffic

01.03.2007 - 30.09.2009
Research funding project
PEFIS highlights the potential, feasibility and framework to implement an energy saving way of operation for commuter trains, considering the day time dependency of passenger¿s exit and entry times. Based on modern detection and operation simulation methods a system will be implemented that provides the train driver with a forecast about which driving strategy he should follow on the next track section to guarantee a maximum of energy efficiency.
