The study investigates the extent to which changes in ownership structures in the Viennese private residential housing stock impact on the housing market. The main question asks, whether there are indications of a significant change from private persons to institutional investors, and if any, what are the consequences in terms of duration of ownership, frequency of ownership change, house price appreciation and yields. What are the main implications for the housing markets and housing policy in Vienna?
