Education and Training of Institutions in Quality Management and Metrology

Bildungs- und Hochschulmanagementprojekt
The project duration was September 1, 2007 - January 31, 2010. The project consortium included 10 partner institutions from Serbia and 5 partner institutions from the European Union. The project was approved and funded by the European Commission in the framework of the Tempus programme. The project grantholder was Vienna University of Technology, Austria. The total project costs amounted to 281645 Euro including the project grant of 267563 Euro. Project objectives: - To enhance the existing system of continuing engineering education in Serbia; - To develop advanced, practically oriented continuing education courses in the areas of quality standards and metrology; - To train professionals from Serbian institutions and enterprises in quality standards and metrology. Project outcomes: - Organised joint events aimed at the exchange of know-how and development of curricula and courses; - Established "Platform for continuing education in quality, standards and metrology" at University of Novi Sad, Faculty of Technical Sciences; - Developed database with more than 220 contact addresses of potential course participants; - Purchased and installed equipment and software for teaching, laboratory work and office work; - Developed six pilot courses: 1. Integrated Management System, 2. EU directives on Conformity Assessment, 3. Six Sigma Model and Application, 4. Measuring/Modelling of Geometrical Product Specification, 5. CAD-Inspection and CMM Measurement, 6. Measurement Uncertainty in Industrial Metrology. - Developed and printed teaching and supporting materials for the above mentioned six courses; - The above mentioned six courses were organised, 111 participants from Serbian institutions and enterprises have been trained. - Developed, printed and disseminated marketing materials (information leaflets on the project and six developed courses). - Developed project web site (http://etiqum.uns.ac.rs).
