Economical effects of tax credits for historic preservation and rehabilitation of buildings under monumental protection
19.07.2005 - 31.08.2005
Auftragsforschungsprojekt
In order to expand the investments into buildings under monumental protection, tax regulations, which subsidise this kind of investments, are developed. The incentive effect of such an indirect subsidy is estimated based on present investments. Economical effects are thus compared to the costs of this subsidy, the decrease in tax revenues: Therefore it is estimated: (a) which sectors of the economy benefit from this investment activity; (b) how many jobs are provided and/or remain preserved and (c) which multiplicative effects result from the investments. Further intangible effects of such investments, like for example economical benefits in tourism, are discussed.
