Education and academia management project

The project duration is January 15, 2009 – August 14, 2012. The project consortium includes 7 partner institutions from Egypt and 4 partner universities from the European Union. The project has been approved and funded by the European Commission within the framework of the Tempus programme. The project grantholder is the American University in Cairo, Egypt. The total project budget amounts to 939050 Euro including the project grant of 895150 Euro.
Project objectives:
- Establishing and operating Technology Transfer Offices at four Egyptian universities: The American University in Cairo, Cairo University, Assiut University  and Helwan University;
- Staff development (Capacity Building for staff members of the Egyptian partners institutions);
- Developing technology transfer operations at the local, regional and international levels and supporting researches of home institutions at all stages of technology implementation: from the idea, invention, protection and commercialisation of the intellectual property rights, up to setting up a company;
- Students development (to promote creativity and entrepreneurship among students).
