Several methods exist for the protection of microdata which might lead to an uncoordinated application of methods by all NSI's in Europe. The aim is to develop a harmonized framework for microdata protection. Case studies are then needed to test the feasability of this approach. For tabular protection methods, close-source software exists. It should be tested how this software can be opened or which other possible open-source solutions are possible.
