Evaluation of the economic impact of a shopping center project

The study investigates the economic impact of a shopping center investment project in the agglomeration of Vienna in terms of total value added, jobs created and fiscal revenues. Regional shifts (of purchasing power, labour, revenues) are taken into consideration. The impact of the construction process and the operation of the shopping center are estimated separately. Finally, conclusions on the project location will be drawn from a regional planning perspective.
