ECTS Implementation at Ukrainian Universities

Global individual project
The project duration was July 7, 2004 - May 31, 2006. The project consortium included 2 partner institutions from Ukraine and 2 partner universities from the European Union. The project was approved and funded by the European Commission in the framework of the Tempus Programme. The project grantholder was Vienna University of Technology, Austria. The total project costs were 70571 EUR incl. the grant amount of 67043 Euro. Project objectives: Training of ECTS-experts from the Lviv National Polytechnic University and the Ministry of Science and Education, and development of guidelines for ECTS-implementation at Ukrainian universities. Project outcomes: - Staff members of the Ukrainian partner institutions were trained in the area of the implementation and use of the ECTS. - The work group established within the project participated in the preparation of the order "About the implementation of the Credit-modular system of the educational process organization" which was issued by the Ministry of Education and Science in December 2005. - A leaflet containing basic information on Bologna process, ECTS and the project itself was developed and published. - The developed and published "Guidelines on ECTS-Implementation at Ukrainian universities" contain detailed information on ECTS including the forms used in ECTS, glossary of terms, practical examples of the use of ECTS, and recommendations of concrete steps for the implementation of ECTS in Ukraine. - The above mentioned Leaflet and Guidelines were disseminated to other Ukrainian universities.
