Towards the Integrated University via Internal Agreement

Global individual project
The project duration was 1 September 2004 - 31 October 2006. The project consortium included 6 partner institutions from Serbia and Montenegro and 6 partner institutions from the European Union. The project was approved and funded by the European Commission in the framework of the Tempus programme. The project grantholder was Middlesex University, London, Great Britain. The total project costs were 284060 EUR incl. the grant amount of 269586 Euro. Project objectives: - Optimisation of the faculty-university communication flow; - Prevention of parallel tracks of evolution of the constituent parts; - Execution of certain forms of integration within existing legal framework via an internal agreement; - Development of a culture of integration and promotion of an integrated university. Project outcomes: - Staff trained in the areas of the restructuring and modernisation of central university administration and services; - A fundamental faculty-university agreement about the content and the range of the internal integration, as a part of the Strategic Development Plan, adopted; - Faculty databases harmonized and integrated in the university management information system; - Proposed a university legal framework for student organisations; - Proposed principles of University Development Fund for supporting university reforms and financial sustainability. The Project made an substantial impact on the Serbian Higher Education Area and has been recognised as one of the most important Tempus projects supporting the reform processes at Serbian higher education institutions, providing a platform for developing a culture of integration, drafting higher education legislative, promoting the integrative functions of university, promoting common standards for university services and initiating a rudiment of the university information system.
