Further development of Dumag-Burners - particularly with regard to reduction of NOx-emissions

Auftragsforschungsprojekt
A CFD-code is used to simulate and to investigate the behaviour of burners for gaseous and liquid fuels. Besides the fluid dynamics also combustion and the production of pollutants (e.g. NOx) are of interest. To get a better understanding experimental work is also carried out especially concerning the size distribution of the droplets in case of liquid fuel combustion. Furthermore, measurements at real burners (1-10 MW) are planned to verify the results of the simulation programme. The simulation tool developed during this project will be used to optimize the burner for low emissions especially for difficult fuels.
