Development of spheroidal cast iron

01.07.2007 - 31.12.2009
Assigned research project
Characterisation of the micro-strucutre of selected ductile cast iron components and knowledge-based correlation to thermal analysis performed at different production steps as well as to mechanical properties of the product. The aim is to develop a method to increase reproducibility of the microstructure based on material science know how. The reliability of mechanical properties of ductile cast iron products shall be increased by targeted micro-structures, taking into account the three dimensional distribution of the graphite segregations.
